ABSTRACT
A simple HPTLC method has been established and validated for determination of oleanolic acid in methanolic extract of Achyranthes aspera L. roots and leaves using Toluene: Ethyl acetate: Formic acid (4.5:0.5:0.1 v/v).as mobile phase.Detection and quantification were performed by densitometry at ? = 529 nm. In roots and leaves methanolic extract oleanolic acid content was found 0.37% and 0.13 %w/w respectively.Validated method shows linear response over conc range of 100 to 900 ng. The LOD and LOQ values were found to be 12.1 ng ,36.68 ng respectively. This method was found precise, accurate, specific and recoverable.
